We're Back!!!

Class 2's blog is finally back up and running...stand by to be bombarded!

Maths Focus

The next 3 weeks will focus on properties of numbers. We will be looking at place value (tens and units) and focusing on the difference between teens numbers and tens numbers (ie 14 and 40). The children will be using apparatus and a range of contexts to explore 2 digit numbers and will be doing lots of problem solving to do with estimation.

SPaG

In spelling, we will be focusing on strategies at the point of writing,such as writing a word twice to see which 'looks right', using syllables and phonemes to break down unfamiliar words, 'wiggling' words we really can't spell and learning some common homophones.

In punctuation and grammar, we will be concentrating on writing in full sentences that begin with capital letters and end with full stops.
